Hello and welcome to 4th grade! I am Ms. Jackson, your child’s 4th grade teacher. I have been teaching for 26 years; this school year will be my 24th year teaching at Rio Vista. We will be starting the 2020-2021 school year learning remotely. The first day of school is Tuesday, September 1, 2020. We will start each school day on Zoom at 8:20 am with attendance and our first lesson. Please have your child come to our online remote learning Zoom meetings ready for school. The school day ends at 1:45 pm. I have included several links at the bottom of this letter to help your child be ready for the first day of school. Please have your child log into Clever and Google Classroom before the first day of school. Their username and password is the same one they used in 3rd grade if they attended a school in PYLUSD. They should add a comment to my welcome in Google Classroom so I know that they were able to join.
Rio Vista materials pick-up day will be on Monday, August 31st from 12:00-1:30 for 4th grade, as a drive through in the school parking lot. Please write your child’s name and teacher’s name on a piece of paper and place it in your front window of your vehicle to help distribution run smoothly.
I have included a link for parents to join my class on the Remind App. This is an easy way for us to communicate throughout the school year. I’m looking forward to getting to know your children over the next few weeks, helping them to learn the 4th grade standards and feel successful while doing so.
